Services Definition and Fee Schedule

The Ottawa Internet Exchange strives to maintain costs as a not-for-profit corporation, run by volunteers while meeting a best efforts level of service. However, operational costs are a fact of life and cannot be avoided. This fee schedule, determined by the OttIX Board, helps OttIX keep costs to a minimum. Costs can include maintenance of corporate records, creation of marketing materials and costs related to staff, office and meeting facilities.
The following services are included in the pricing for access to OttIX:
There are two charges that will appear in an invoice issued by OttIX at initial connection: A non-recurring installation charge and a yearly port fee. Invoicing occurs once a year at the beginning of the calendar year.
On-site tech support is $75/h during regular hours and $125/h after-hours, two-hour minimum charge. Port relocation charges are the same cost as the listed installation charges.
