BCP-3 Private ASN Allocations

Last updated: 17 January, 2002

In some cases, it may be necessary to allocate private ASN's as a temporary measure, until the member ISP obtains its own AS number. Here then is a table describing what allocations have been made to which ISPs. Please respect these allocations, and make absolutely sure you strip private ASN numbers from your border routers too. The OttIX route servers will take care of this for outgoing announcements.

According to the IANA, the private ASN's are in the range of 64512 - 65534.
